 Hard Rock Cafe is closing!

I couldn’t believe the news. The Hard Rock Cafe in Salt Lake City is closing on December 7th. We decided to eat there tonight since I have to get my fix of heavy metal sauce, but now my heavy metal fixes will be no more.

Our server told us that the place has been slow for a long time. I guess that combined with the renovation going on at Trolley Square has driven away all the customers.  Well, let’s not mention that Trolley Square should have renovated five or ten years ago to turn it into an actual destination hot spot.  Looks like their upgrade came a little too late for Hard Rock.

I sure hope they will eventually find a better location in Salt Lake and reestablish themselves.  It would be a shame if they left Salt Lake City for good.  If that happens, someone has got to tell me how they make that heavy metal sauce!

So if you ever liked Hard Rock, you best get yourself there before December 7th.

…I live in South Florida but I make it to that Hard Rock twice a Year on Vacations…I was just there at Christmas-time (December 28th actually),and was shocked to see it closed down… How does a thriving City like Salt Lake lose a Hard Rock? The Seminoles have more money than the Government so they can easily support it…Hopefully they find a new Location, maybe Downtown somewhere :-(

It is a shame that the owners of this Hard Rock didn’t make a move sooner. In my opinion, the renovation of Trolley Square Mall put the final nail in the proverbial coffin that had already been shutting for years. While most of the surrounding area is thriving, Trolley Square just hasn’t been able to bring the crowds that other locations can. I wish they would have moved it downtown where they surely would have been busier. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to travel to get my fix now. Maybe Florida.

I was way bummed out about the closing of Hard Rock here in SLC. I agree about the rennovations killing it, although, unless it was a weekend, it was a pretty slow place. I think that they should open a new one by the Gateway Mall downtown, or maybe even Park City. Especially when Sundance is going on, I think Hard Rock could do very well in Park City.

I agree – Park City would probably be better.

If Tulsa, OK can have a Hsrd Rock, Why can’t SLC? Of course the Cherokee nation built the Tulsa one but we have plenty of Tribes here that have plenty of money.
